Let the guy golf!!

April 20th, 2010 admin No comments

He can’t make it to Poland for President Lech Kaczynski’s funeral because of the forced cancellation of his planned flight due to that volcanic ash. So he’s got some free time.  I say “swing that club Mr. President”.  And every time you go to tee it up ..blow a party horn and then say “Hey look at me!  I’m having my own TEE PARTY!!”  That would be funny.  And when someone asks you, what your score is.  Say something like ” Why would I keep score when I don’t even have a spending budget for the deficit?”  The gallery will explode with uncontrollable laughter.  Trust me.  Then wip out a cigarette from your secret stash somewhere inside of your golf bag.  Light it.  Take a few big drags off of it and then say something like  “Here’s a few ashes that won’t keep me from playing the next hole!!”  There won’t be a dry eye on the course.  I have more funny ideas if you want them Mr. President.  It’s what I used to do before I lost my job.  Need a smart ass caddy?  Call me.  I’m your guy. Small asteroid will pass by the Earth on tonight

April 8th, 2010 admin No comments

A recently discovered small asteroid will pass by the Earth tonight (Thursday 4/8/10),  but poses no risk of striking,I wonder if President  Obama signed a treaty with it.  The orb will come just 223,000 miles from Earth — which is about the distance most travel roundtrip for spring break.

Although it may not seem all that close, it’s close enough buy astronomical  terms.  In laymen terms – It’s as close as getting to a Cav’s playoff game this year.  It will be played right here in our own backyard  but most will not actually see it live.

The asteroids  closest pass-by will be closer to Earth than our own Moon is.  The asteroid is approximately 71 feet wide, and was discovered by the Catalina Sky Survey in Tucson, Arizona. It will come nearest to Earth at about 2300 GMT Thursday.  I wonder if it’s against the law to use one of those laser pointers on it as it goes by?

Fly-bys of near-Earth objects within the moon’s orbit occur every few weeks. And that’s not counting last years ”Boy in the UFO balloon” incident.

So don’t forget to look up in the sky tonight, at whatever time 2300 GMT is, and give a friendly wave to a passing object foreign to our atmosphere.    I wonder if the asteroid charges extra for carry on baggage?
